Schulenburg, TX

Schulenburg, TX, is located in Fayette County. The land belonged to Kesiah Crier after acquiring it from the Mexican government in 1830, making her family among the first white settlers in the entire area. The town is well-known for its German culture, which is a result of many early settlers of German and Czechoslovakian origin. Evidence of their German culture and origins still remains in the area and is seen in places such as the local bakeries.
